Directions - Fabric Rope Baskets

Hot glue the wire to the base of you vase.

Go all the way around the base. I didn’t measure the wires, but they were roughly 1-inch apart.

Make sure you use an odd number of wires.

Glue the tail of your fabric yarn onto the base of your fabric rope basket.

This step allows yot to hide the base. I hot glued the twine that was wrapped twice around the base.

Start weaving the fabric rope over and under the wires going around the base.

Keep the twine pulled tight. But be careful you don’t pull too tight or your vase will start going inwards.

To create dimension to your fabric wrapped vases, bend the wires in or out as you go. I wanted my fabric rope basket to be wider at the top so I bent the wires out.

And then I decided I wanted it to curve back in, so I bent the wires up. You can play around with the shape of your fabric wrapped vases by adjusting the wires and the tightness of the rope.

Once you get the shape and height you want hot glue the wire to the top row of fabric yarn. Then using wire cutters snip the wires.

Go around your vase one more time with the fabric yarn, hot gluing the yarn to your vase. This will hide the wires at the top.

Tie a knot in the fabric twine and cut it. I just put a dab of hot glue on it and tucked it inside the vase.
